soooo if someone in cuba, who wanted to live at home but wished it was better, complained about his country, would you tell that person to be quiet? https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1299136972074737664?s=20
armando, do you know what "amendment" means? https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1299189117952065537
you should read up on this thing called the dred scott decision. https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1299182838324121600
the idea white people OWNING black people, armando. the fact it wasn't explicitly outlawed meant it was a right granted by the nation. remember: this was the only country with slavery based on race. THE ONLY ONE.

that's something most ppl don't know. https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1299141757846859777
all that said, i gotta say i'm surprises as hell to hear tannehill be so explicit. good on him. i'd love to know more about his journey, cuz i know that ain't popular in big spring or college station.
i don't want to be #thatguy, but i don't think people realize what the three-fifths compromise was. it didn't say we were 3/5ths of a person. that doesn't have to do with us being people at all. https://twitter.com/RoryRoberge/status/1299399257875722244
the three-fifths compromise said southern states could count three-fifths of the slave population toward the state's population, for electoral college purposes. it didn't say we were three-fifths of a person. it said we were a statistic. a function, basically.
that distinction is important for a couple of reasons.

1. dred scott, again, meant black folks had no rights anyone was bound to respect. which is to say, black folks weren't people.

2. it's the beginning of white folks making their votes count more than they should.
white folks making their votes count more than they should isn't discussed enough. yes, we talk about voter suppression and the idea some people don't get to vote. but what it's REALLY doing is making white votes into supervotes.
anyway, read all that before you get a load of @ArmandoSalguero telling people who are born here and not moving not to complain about the country. you gotta be f ckin kidding me.
