I Just Found Out I Had COVID-19 and We Don't Know Much About This Virus:

Many who have had the virus have suffered from similar symptoms. I was asymptomatic and didn't begin to experience anything until weeks or months later.

I hope this story encourages people to be safer...
A few weeks ago I began feeling fatigued to the point that I could barely stand, my ability to focus was lost, and I started having bad stiffness in my neck, migraines, and brain fog.

I have multiple sclerosis, and thought it might be symptoms of that for the first few days...
I realized after a while that it wasn't my multiple sclerosis and started researching. My symptoms seemed aligned with meningitis so I went to the hospital.

They ran blood tests, COVID tests, and did a spinal tap to check for meningitis. Everything came back negative.
Because the doctors couldn't figure out what was going on, they put me on doxycycline, an antibiotic that fights meningitis and other things.

The medicine made me extremely sick, and my symptoms weren't stopping. So, we ran more tests...still negative.
After multiple tests, doctors told me there was no way that I had COVID-19 and that it must have been some other infection that would go away soon.

Luckily, I decided to do more research and read stories online about people whose tests were negative but they had it.
I went to go get checked again, but for antibodies as well.

Turns out, at some point I did have COVID-19, but I was asymptomatic. What I've been suffering from is post-COVID syndrome.

An entirely different set of health issues that you can still have after you've recovered.
Obviously, I didn't need to be on the meningitis medicine. Which reflects how little we are prepared to deal with COVID-19.

I'm off the meds, and still suffering from the same symptoms, though they are becoming more manageable.
People have been reckless and entitled about this virus. I've been taking safety precautions since February, and still got it.

Being a person who has other health ailments, I'm lucky to be alive.

Everyone needs to be taking this serious. We don't know what we are dealing with.
