I want a DC series that reimagines all the superheroes as Black people. And I don’t just mean adding some pigment and calling it a day. What would Superman be like if he’d been a Black baby who landed among Black sharecroppers in the 1930s?
What would Wonder Woman (Nubia) be like if she’d come to America from Themiscyra in the 1940s. If her first impression of “man’s world” was being told to sit in the back of the bus or being assaulted for being in the wrong town after dark?
What would Green Lantern be like if the ring had bonded with a Black soldier instead of Hal Jordan in the 1950s?

What if the chemicals that created the Flash spilled on a Black child who’d snuck into the basement of a white’s only school to run some chemistry experiments?
Those are the kinds of stories I want to read. And call the series something like, “DC Elseworlds: Truth, Justice, and the American Way.”
