Saw this tweet yesterday & saw the response by the person below. Don't know her, but she's followed by several Chicago biking orgs and Chicago biking enthusiasts.

Interest in biking ≠ understanding and aligning with racial justice.

I posted this not to make sure everyone I know unfollows her, but to show that ppl w/ these beliefs can be intimately in our spaces if we don't intentionally build spaces where those beliefs are rooted out & challenged. This can't be the first time she expressed these beliefs.

Why I can't simply be in spaces because ppl have mutual interests like biking. No, I have to know value sets, your thoughts about racial justice, equity, etc.

All right good people, gonna probly mute this thread, think I've said what I needed to say. And def don't want to think about this person for more than I have to.
