Sadhya, a feast origining from Kerala, important to all Malayalis consists of a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes served on a banana leaf usually eaten as lunch.
Unlike other cuisines, in Sadhya, the sweet dish is eaten in the middle of the meal and not in the end. Sadhya ends with curd rice and plantain. This helps with digestion.

There are at least 25 dishes on the traditional plate and a certain method of eating too but it varies in accordance to convenience and preference. The meal is started with banana chips and injupuli chutney, this helps open up your taste buds.
*How Onam-style Sadhya is served*
A clean banana leaf is spread out with the end of the leaf towards the left (Traditionally served on the floor). The papadam is served on the extreme left of the leaf. A banana is placed on top of the papadam.
Then moving from the right of the papadam, the papadam salt, banana wagers and other fries are served. After this come the pickles and injipodi. Next, the cucumber pachdi, on the right the cabbage thora along with beetroot thoran. Rice is served in the centre with sambar on top
and after all this the sweet dish is served adaprathaman.
