For those who don't know.

In July 2018 at the age of 50 I was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable lung cancer.

Upto that point I'd never spent a night in hospital and had been pretty fit and healthy.

I had never smoked.
I could easily write a huge thread on what I have and am going through but I know you don't want that on your timeline.

What I do want though, is everyone to understand that if you have lungs you can get lung cancer.

15% of Lung cancers are found in never smokers.
That doesn't mean a smoker deserves it. No one does.

What it does mean is that if you have any symptoms call it out to your Doctor ask for more investigations.

I was misdiagnosed for months first chest infection, then pneumonia. It was only a A&E trip that confirmed the worst.
Lung cancer is the biggest killer in the UK and worldwide but one of the lowest funded. Presumably due to a smoking stigma.

As I said I don't want to fill your timeline but if anyone has any questions feel free to ask me.

It can happen to anyone. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/lung-cancer/symptoms/
I'm not asking for sympathy. I just want as many people as possible to understand;

if you have lungs you can get lung cancer.

Do not assume non/never smokers can't get it.

If you are in any doubt go to your GP and insist on a full investigation.
