I lead off last night's call with a tough question. A pretty open one, just looking for answers. Brian Cashman more than answered my question. I'm realizing today that it's too long to even clip. He spoke for almost 8 MINUTES on the subject 👍🏿 I will try to pair down his response
Pt 1 - Cashman addresses the Nelson Mandela post that some thought was not enough back in June. Also speaks on Nelson Mandela coming to Yankee Stadium in 1990, his connection to the Steinbrenner family, his plaque in monument park, and Hal Steinnbrenner's statement including BLM.
Pt 2 - Cashman shares what the Yankees have done internally, behind the scenes, with @EmmanuelAcho and the whole organization. He goes on to talk about the team meeting before Opening Night where we saw players wear BLM shirts, kneel, and people wrongfully criticize the action.
Pt 3 - Cashman speaks on why the Yankees didn't speak out on the off day. He also speaks on real life conversations he's had w/ black people about their experience. I lighten the mode w/ a joke about his experience getting pulled over. He speaks on that, police, and this country.
Pt 4 - Brian Cashman speaks on Kyle Rittenhouse and how he was able to walk around with an assault rifle. This kid murdered two people. The difference between how he was treated and how others are treated is so clear. We need to work together to unite this country. All of us. Now
