Curious about NC Science Debate? 🧐

We are partnered with 2 non-partisan, nation-wide nonprofit organizations: @SciDebate and @scipolnetwork

We hope to facilitate discussion of science and technology-related policy issues among candidates running for office in North Carolina
We are a group of graduate students from @SciPolPack, @UNC_SPAG, and @SpartansSciPol dedicated to providing professional development opportunities for students to engage in #scipol and #advocacy for their future careers 🧬💉🔭

Let's highlight our amazing team members!
First, our fearless leader and team lead for NC Science Debate, @kamboj_ishita. She is a Ph.D. Student at @NCstate
in Materials Science & Engineering where she explores new electrode architectures for lithium-ion batteries 🔋💡
Next up, @alexhsain! Alex is on our candidate relations team and is a Ph.D. student @NCState in Materials Science & Engineering where she researches energy-efficient microelectronics for memory storage 🔌💡
Next up is @becca_vanhoeck! Becca is on our candidate relations team and is a Ph.D. student @UNC_Biology and @UNCims where she studies the sounds marine animals make to ask a variety of questions about marine ecosystems and fish populations 🐟🐠
@degorelick is on our candidate relations team and is a PhD candidate in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the @UNCpublichealth. David works at UNC's Center on Financial Risk in Environmental Systems, and have broad interests in solving resource allocation problems 🚿🚰
@hannalberman - candidate relations - is a PhD candidate in @NCStateVetMed in Comparative Biomedical Sciences! She studies the vaginal microbiome and the bacterial variations of Gardnerella and how that relates to gynecological and obstetric outcomes such as preterm birth. 🧫🤰
Justin Middleton - @Dysosmia - serves on the public relations committee and is a Ph.D. student @cscncsu where he studies software engineering communities and tools that allow effective work! 💻🧑‍💻
Megan Damico - @MicrobialMeg - is on our public relations team and is a Ph.D. candidate at @bio_uncg where she investigates the honey bee gut microbiome and different factors of influence on strain-level diversity. 🐝🦠
@RB_Dudek works on candidate relations for us and is a PhD candidate at @NCState in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. His work centers on improving energy efficiency and reducing CO2 or methane emissions from processes in the oil and gas sector 🚙🛢️⛽️
@Ryan1Tam - candidate relations team a PhD candidate at @NCState in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. He studies the feasibility of using a stem cell-derived model of the reward pathway in the brain to study genetic and epigenetic responses to drug-exposed environments 💊🔬
