{Thread on Sinful Nature}

God does not deal with branches; He deals with roots. If the root has been dealt with (made healthy), the faulty branches will wither away NATURALLY, forming new branches producing good fruit NATURALLY

God did not deal with the actions of sin; he dealt with the nature of sin in man. The actions of sin is the by product of the nature of sin

For us to be reconciled back to God the root of the problem of sin had to be uprooted from its core. The sinful nature HAD to be removed

“When you came to Christ you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature”
Colossians 2:11

Believing in Christ meant that the sinful nature had been cut away completely. Not to be reattached

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 36:26

We were given a brand new heart that could accept and receive the love of God (Romans 5:5)

When we begin to acknowledge and believe in what Christ done in the removal of our sinful nature we can begin to see ourselves how God sees us in Christ: righteous and blameless

You are righteous IN Christ. You are no longer a sinner. Why? Because Christ made you righteous

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that IN HIM WE MIGHT BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD”
2 Corinthians 5:21

Christ became sin, our sinful nature, so we could become the righteousness of God

HALLELUJAH Tap your neighbour and say I am righteous in Christ

Yes we may fall short but that DOES NOT negate our righteousness. God dealt with our nature once and for all.

IF (not when) you fall short, pick yourself back up and look to Jesus. Do not identify yourself with your falling short, rather identity with Christ and what He’s done

The enemy will try His hardest to condemn and accuse you but as long as you continue to look to Christ, there is NO ROOM for the devils accusation

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1

Christ dealt with sin once and for all when sin was condemned in His flesh (Romans 8:3) on the cross

Let’s not make sin the MAIN topic of our conversations as Christians, let’s make OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS the MAIN topic of conversation Let’s glorify the work of the cross

We look to no one & nothing else other than Christ. Whatever He accomplished on the cross is what we live by; NOTHING ELSE

In Christ you are righteous, holy, sanctified and perfect. Why?

“... because AS HE IS SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD.”
