In JK Rowling's original TERF WARS blog she said how much she admired Magdalen Berns, who said that being a trans woman was a "dirty fucking perversion."

JKR shouldn't be afforded the opportunity to hand back human rights awards, they should be taken back.

And if you're of the Left and you find that statement at all controversial, you should ponder if she had promoted the work of someone who said something as disgusting and derogatory about any other minority would you baulk at her being made to return human rights awards?

Let's say an author had promoted the work of someone who used the language of infestation to describe immigrants, or had compared gay men to pedophiles etc, would we think that they should still be celebrated as a human rights advocate? I doubt it.

In short, if you baulk at the original tweet, examine your own prejudices when it comes to trans people.
