Montenegro bans Vlado Georgiev, a popular singer from MNE, to enter his country after being critical of the govt (he is also a critic of Vučić). MNE did a similar thing to historians and writers opposed to the govt last year- ex-YU activist-artists are oddly silent about this

While smear campaigns against critical artists and intellectuals are common in the region, it is really only MNE which outright bans people from entering... and of course, they are at the front of EU accession negotiations and the usual outrage from pundit circles is absent

I mean, we are adults and know that might (and interests) make right, but it is at least bad optics for the EU to be so tolerant of most blatant ostracism on political grounds, if they’re already ok with church persecution and the rest...
