For the entire history of our country, the perception that black lives mattered less than other human lives is exactly why people say Black Lives Matter too!

The laws of this country do not allow law enforcement to shoot someone in the back to bring them into custody, period!!

The officer involved in the shooting probably doesn’t consider himself a racist, probably doesn’t associate with racist ideas, probably has many friends of different racial backgrounds…

But the subconscious bias that exists in the minds of many Americans lead to outcomes that are consistently unequal and racist!

The foundational subconscious belief that- black lives matter LESS than other lives- is what directly leads to the travesties and inequalities that affect black lives on a daily basis in this country.

It’s time for this country to value black lives equal to all other lives in America! No more excuses.

Time to make positive and lasting change, not just making a point
