If we are going to combat racism and racial violence then we MUST go to war with the white family! The white family is the primary site of the reproduction of racism and violence in American life.
The media and researchers across disciplines need to investigate the coercion and violence that white children internalize in the home. If we’re serious about understanding why young white men and women can become so hateful and violent, why wouldn’t we study how they are raised?
Given this national threat, we need look at triggers in the socialization of white boys, including the most mediocre who are led to expect a dominant position in society & an automatic path to success, with no ability to or adapt when that dominant position is undermined.
The white family is the primary site of the reproduction of racism & violence in American life. The public is never allowed to make the connection between racial violence and the white family, the context of coercive violence these young men like Kyle Rittenhouse were raised in.
So far the media strategy has been to ignore parenting and families to focus on more nefarious causes. The public doesn’t want to be told there is something wrong with the normal white family itself. This is why we have no real insight into the violence we see in the news.
here are always articles on toxic masculinity or gun culture, which are treated like viruses communicated in schools and workplaces. Yet behind this stands the “normal” white family with all its unspoken violence and degradation of children.
White people have a long and documented history of destroying children and those children have grown up to pay their repressed rage and trauma forward by wreaking havoc on cultures and societies across space and time.
White children are socialized to believe that they should not take retribution onto the people who actually tortured them, but to pay it forward on Black folks, immigrants, and others.
The coercive parenting & socialization of white boys is central to understanding white supremacy and violence. If we’re serious about understanding why white men are violent & racist and buying so many guns, we need to invest even more time in studying how they became this way.
We need to create policies, surveillance systems, and stringent laws around those studies so that we can contain this threat to national security and the lives of people of color.
But I won& #39;t hold my breath. White supremacy requires white kids be coerced into evil & raised to become terrorists because the destruction of life & communities are core tenets of western "civilization." The fact that he was thanked & given water by cops demonstrates this fact.
