đź‘‹ Today I'll be following the #MarchOnWashington2020 taking photos and interviewing people just for the sake of sharing stories. Come say hi if you see me and make fun of my baby mullet!
Less of an (overt) police and military precense so far than I expected. Couple of National Guard members chilling by Constitution and 23rd. Crowds grow as you approve the Lincoln Memorial.
Brittney (left), her sister Brandi (middle) and their mom Stacey McLoyd came all the way from Atlanta to be here, and are thinking of the original March that was held here 57 years ago today.

"My father was here for that one," Stacey said. "He's coming later today."
I spotted Syble Bradshaw enjoying the shade and her crosswords and asked her.

"I wanted to be here for my people," she said. "I've been thinking of all the people police killed."

She came here all the way from California with her daughter. She turned 80 last week.
A band just played a rendition of A Change is Gonna Come. A speaker is now listing the events that also happened today.

"We are here to say, get your knees off our necks!" He said.

We're a few hours away from the start of the day. A few hundred people are gathered so far
Hah. I found all the people. Guys this line for temperature checks is *thousands of people* long. Some people have been waiting 45 minutes and have barely moved.
Lots of signs to check out while you're waiting tho.

Rod and Barrett are both are from Texas and holding artwork from @shoestringpressny.

Rod (left) said they flew here because they "felt it was really important in this moment to support Black lives."
