A tragedy of leadership in the South East produced and made someone like Nnamdi Kanu relevant.

Unfortunately, like those before him, he has simply refused to see clearly for whatever reason.

November 2017, was a perfect opportunity for IPOB to make a mission statement.
With Kanu out of DSS detention, the Anambra State elections were at hand. A perfect opportunity for the organization to show what power they did posses.

Many believed it was all over for our political elites in Anambra.

That election was supposed to be the test run.
Kanu was supposed to endorse a candidate, Chidoka many believed. He had followed Kanu's detention case, been to the courts, infact he was there the day he was released.

If Kanu had endorsed one candidate for the Anambra 2017 elections, you can be sure that person would be
Governor today.

Instead he maintained the mundane "No referendum, No elections in Biafra land"
"Boycott"

This of course cleared the way for "Aguleri Lionel Richie" Wilberforce Obiano to emerge Governor again with massive buying of votes.

Chidoka with an impressive campaign
Couldn't score up to 8,000 votes.

Such a shame.

Kanu and IPOB lost that chance to send a clear message to the powers that be, instead Kanu embarked of courtesy calls reportedly demanding money and blackmailing the very political class he could have simply retired.
If Anambra produced a Governor from that election with the support of Kanu, all states in the South East would have adjusted. IPOB would have had real power to pursue this referendum. 2019 wouldn't have been business as usual from our politicians.

But that chance was lost.
Lost to personal interest, lost to agenda, lost to a myopic and linear way of thinking.

Now, our political elite having dodged the Nnamdi missile, immediately proscribed IPOB to end any further threats they could pose especially during elections.
They now wallow in incompetence because nobody could retire them now.

Our people won't vote because even if they did, their votes won't count. But most importantly, we don't vote.

We need to start voting.
