Bear with me till the end..

Between 8-12 pm last night my account grew by aprox. 300. I reached 419 followers. It was growing by 75 per hour. At this RO, I predicted that my account will reach about 1000 by 7 am. In the morning, I had aprox. 525. Half of my prediction. 1/n

I had made some deadly false assumptions. I assumed that the RO will keep on growing exponentially over night. I failed to realize that people will prefer to sleep at night instead of continue to retweet my tweet enthusiastically. 2/n

Worse yet, I kind of wished that by the time I sleep, China will wake up and they will continue to RT my tweet. Unfortunately, again I made a false assumption. I assumed that China would care about my tweets and my ideas of science, common sense, liberty and free speech. 3/n

I was dead wrong.

In my defense, I did not really make that 1000 prediction. This is the prediction that @neil_ferguson would’ve made for me.
