if anyone remembers my tweets from about a week ago they will remember I wasn't a huge fan of silva signing for chelsea and my concern was coming from two points: Fitness and wages. I thought silva would be on 300k a week but with his reported big pay cut that goes out the window

Discuss his fitness and ability to play week in week out: I looked into his number of games played and found out he has only missed 3 UCL games and 6 League games so clearly my concern was misplaced now lets talk about what he adds

1: A World class defender: Chelsea this season have been defensively shocking. Conceding more goals than anyone in the top 10 and even more than brighton. A shocking defense even baring in mind we had a mannequin playing in goal. Silva adds exactly what we need

A solid consistent defender which will drop a 7/10 week in week out and will add much needed stability and grit to our otherwise pretty crap backline

2)Experience: They say with age comes experience and with T.Silva being 36 he has buckets of experience to add to the backline. Silva offers leadership and consistency. Something no one in our backline has bar azpilicueta.

A player who will immediately improve whoever he is paired up with. Silva will definitely add consistency to Christensen and Rudigers game though his main partner will be Kurt Zouma. A very complementary pair. Zouma will help with thiagos relative aerial deficiency

3)Mentorship and leadership: Chelsea's success in the 2019/2020 was based on a young passionate manager using young youth players. Mount, Abraham, Pulisic, Zouma, Christensen, tomori, Reece, Gilmour, CHO were all academy players / players who were signed at 20 yr or less

But in a squad filled with youth one thing always lacks. Leadership. While we had some leaders in the squad. The addition of an experienced leader was always gonna happen and thiago silva is just that. He will also help mentor Tomori and mbuyamba into starts hopefully

Thiago silva will be a brilliant signing for chelsea and will improve us massively next season and I am excited to see him in blue. Likes and RTs help me out alot bros and are much appreciated
