*sigh*

This is a prime example of shoddy "journalism", based on an embarrassingly obvious lack of simple research about #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and infused with a large amount of biased, subjective opinion and a healthy dose of condescension.

Let's go through this, shall we? https://twitter.com/spy_dot/status/1298719256079605760
2/25

The fact that Timothy Beck Werth (TBW) almost immediately refers to #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague as a "re-release" is a clear indication that he is ignorant due to a simple lack of basic research. It is common knowledge by now that #TheSnyderCut is *anything but* a re-release.
3/25

1) "pity" - the condescension here is at once both hilarious and insultingly unwarranted. We do not need your pity. You would know this if you did your research.

2) "Snyder's weirdly bleak Justice League" - the JL you're referring to is not Snyder's. You should know this.
4/25

What's this I see here? Ah yes, more personal, subjective, biased opinion on Zack's first two DC films. This isn't factual reporting.

Oh and lots more shamefully insulting condescension. Great journalism on display here, folks!
5/25

TBW goes on to compare #TheSnyderCut movement to the backlash against various divisive instalments of the Got, HP, and SW franchises, going on to call #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague a "new" movie.

Yet again showcasing his total ignorance of the reality of this unique situation.
6/25

TBW then claims he knows #TheSnyderCut will not satisfy the fans who asked for it, and even goes so far as to arrogantly say that "we" know it won't be any good.

The arrogance, ignorance, and condescension is strong with this one.
7/25

And now we have perhaps the most shockingly, appallingly obvious example of TBW's utter ignorance of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement.

If you know anything about what really happened in 2017, you would be cheering on Snyder's criticisms of Joss Whedon's Justice League.
8/25

Yet again, with just the most basic amount of research, TBW would quickly understand why the fans believe this, and why Snyder has been so supportive of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
9/25

Whedon's JL was indeed a fundamentally flawed movie. That tends to happen when you cut out 90% of the original director's work, shoot 1.5hrs of new footage with the polar opposite tone and style, and try to stitch it together.

But TBW doesn't appear to know this, does he?
10/25

TBW then goes on to compare #TheSnyderCut to Snyder's previous director's cuts, YET AGAIN showcasing his utter ignorance of the situation behind Justice League.

And his comments about the director's cut of #BvS are not only subjective, but objectively incorrect. Research.
11/25

TBW's ignorance shines brightly here, as he assumes Snyder is purely making the 2017 movie longer, extending an already-bad film.

Mate, seriously. Learn to do some research. #TheSnyderCut is an almost totally different film. Literally everyone else knows this, except you.
12/25

In what world does this count as journalism? This is pure, undiluted, biased opinion, not based on factual reporting in the slightest.

TBW, you're an embarrassment to your "profession". Your anti-Snyder bias is on FULL display.

Grow up and start reporting like an adult.
13/25

If TBW did a little research, he would find interviews with Snyder, Nolan, and others where they discuss how these films were a fresh, realistic approach akin to TDK. Superman was to become the recognisable hero we all know at the *end* of Snyder's 5-film series.
14/25

1) This is again sheer ignorance. Ask literally anyone who has worked with Snyder - they will sing his praises higher than anyone has praised Whedon, not just as a kind, caring director but as a sincere, heartfelt family man. Whedon is well known as abusive and sexist.
15/25

2) More subjective, biased, and childishly overdramatic opinion. Go watch the scenes with Clark and his mother in #MoS. Watch the first flight sequence. Watch his scenes with Lois in both MoS and #BvS. Then tell me again Snyder's films are "lacking in joy of any kind".
16/25

Calling #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague a "frankenstein's" monster is perhaps the most insultingly ignorant statement I have ever read.

#TheSnyderCut is not "Justice League 2.0".

TBW, you clearly don't know the very first thing about this situation or what happened in 2017.
17/25

What's this? TBW makes it sound like he will be exploring all the differences between the 2017 and 2021 films... some real journalism at last?

Oh. He mentions one minor change, Steppenwolf's design... and that's it.

Good grief. Lazy doesn't even begin to describe this.
18/25

1) If you did your job, you would know that Snyder chose the song because it holds personal meaning to his family.

But you don't know anything about Snyder or his family, do you?
19/25

2) I challenge you to name ONE shot in the trailer with needlessly "sexy" heroes "flashing skin".

And no, Aquaman & Wonder Woman don't count... unless you're willing to trash their solo films in the same way? But you won't because they weren't directed by Zack Snyder.
20/25

The criticism against Snyder as a misogynist is old, tired, and utterly baseless. Ask literally any of the many women who have worked with Zack in empowering, strong female roles.

Ah but we couldn't finish this article without some more anti-Snyder bias, could we TBW?
21/25

You're best buddies with Scott Mendelson, aren't you?

The ignorance is truly astounding. I'm beginning to feel something towards you, TBW... is that... pity I feel rising in my heart?
22/25

After your absurd levels of condescension, you truly expect us to believe that you "really mean it"?

You've mocked us, the fans, who have done more for artistic integrity and charity in the last 2.5 years than your work will likely ever achieve in your lifetime. No joke.
23/25

Yes he did. And it was a beautiful moment. Zack has never once spoken out like this, but when a biased "critic" watches a leaked trailer and comments on it specifically to downplay the hype that a director has crafted for his fans, that director is absolutely justified.
24/25

And if you knew even the first thing about what really happened behind the scenes in 2017, you would feel the same way we all do when someone says what Scott said about Whedon's film.

But you don't know, do you TBW?

Because you didn't do any research, did you TBW?
25/25

There are literally tens of thousands of us from all over the world. Of all ages and backgrounds. Our common ground is artistic integrity and human decency.

Again, stop calling #TheSnyderCut a re-release.

And no, TBW. There is no need to pity us.

We pity you.
