Back in 2016, during the campaign, there was a group of Never Trumpers that attempted to prevent Trump from winning the election. This was essentially led by Bill Kristol, and eventually led to McMullin's "campaign". Many verified conservatives took part in the effort.
Organisations such as the Reagan Battalion, for instance, were against Trump. Ben Shapiro was Never Trump. Dana Loesch was Never Trump. Hugh Hewitt was Never Trump. Mark Levin was Never Trump. Some changed their views when Trump was selected as candidate, some didn't.
The ones who didn't quadrupled down, pushed for a Hillary victory despite all of their previous views, or alternatively voted for a third party candidate - McMullin. This includes people such as Lindsey Graham. But Trump was regardless.
However, over the course of the last four years, Never Trump has shrunk, no matter how many Twitter profiles are verified or who the latest "blumpf bad" person is on the pundit circuit. People have changed their views, or at least changed enough to vote Trump.
The Deplorable banner is big. Very big, in fact. Many people are accepted under it. From bakers, oil rig workers and soldiers to actors, sports athletes and porn stars. Trump built on the foundation of his base and is still building now.
Never Trump is a dying breed, and it will officially die on Election Day. Nobody trusts a backstabber. Look at John Bolton. Initial platitudes but where is he now? John Kasich is stuck in the middle of a field, I think.
What is said in Washington and in news rooms does not reflect the reality of the world. In the United Kingdom, you had people such as Steve Coogan call Brexiteers idiots on the BBC. Now Brexit has won and the BBC is facing strong calls for it to be defunded.
The more Trump successfully accomplishes a conservative goal, the more Never Trump hates him, because you see, it's impossible for the host of The Apprentice to be more successful than them. You see, they're the smart thinkers, the real man behind the man.
This brings me to my general point - Glenn Beck recently posted a thread apologising to Trump and his family for his comments from 2016 onward, and has said he has become a true believer. There are people who buy this, and there are people who don't.
My point is this: what measure is a Never Trumper? If a Never Trump votes for Trump in the 2020 election, were they a Never Trump or are they a Sometimes Trump, or perhaps a Trumper all along?

At what stage can a Never Trump shed the establishment beliefs and become Full Trump?
