After switching to fiber internet and playing against someone else with fiber internet in kof 13, it seems that parsec is still far less consistent than playing with Kof13 steam edition's netcode.
under ideal conditions, 2 people with powerful machines, fiber internet, with hardly any ping, with 500+up/down, that is.
parsec feels great when it's working well, but for some reason seems to be prone to lag spikes, regardless of the settings used. I have messed around a lot
seeing as using parsec makes the experience different for the host and client , I personally am going to switch to 13's online. if i need to practice really tight stuff without worrying about online, i'll host on parsec with someone who doesn't mind.
also i might add, I am VERY VERY sensitive to latency, as i've only really ever played offline, so my experience might be very different to yours.
this thread isn't me telling you not to use parsec, but it's just putting my own experience out there with the hope that maybe SOMEONE sees it and isn't disappointed by parsec not working the way people've been saying. who knows maybe parsec will improve!
I think parsec is cool, because it got me playing my favorite game online, and made me realize online ain't half as bad as i thought before. If you've been having bad experiences with your game's netcode, i'd still give parsec a shot!
