Nak share reaksi saya bila menemuduga calon kerja (bidang R&D):
(Bila nampak CV design lawa) : “Uih, kaler-kaler!” Terus tengok hobby ada tak tulis “design is my passion”.
(Bila tengok transcript): “Hmm kalau anda retain 10% knowledge dari semua subject ni kira terer dah”

(Bila tengok FYP,Thesis): If you know this project like the back of your hand in and out, that’s all that matter. It means you’ve gone through a reasonable design process. (dalam hati: Please don’t tell me you copy paste code tapi tak faham)

(Bila tengok calon menjawab): Tak kisah pun kalau nak campur BM/BI. As long as you can sell it. Nanti dah kerja lancar lah speaking hari-hari.
(Bila nampak calon panik): “It’s okay if you can’t answer it, we can try other questions.” Nak tengok thought process saja itu penting.

Ada calon yg dalam 10 minit boleh tahu dah that person will be a good hire. Ada yang lambat warm up, gugup for 10 minutes tapi bila tengok I’m really a cool guy dia pun relax dan enjoying the session. Ada yang macam treat the whole session macam masuk bilik cikgu disiplin. Takut.

Remember, key things for any aspiring engineers: Interest in technology and willing to learn, not shy and afraid to ask questions. You’ll never stop learning in this line of work.
