Bali's official #COVID19 death toll has reached 60 with the addition of another two new deaths today. There have been several other people who died having tested positive but their deaths have not been added. Confirmed cases now total 4901 (+93). Recoveries now total 4280 (+ 71).
There were 581 people in care today in one of 17 #COVID19 referral hospitals or one of six quarantine facilities. That's up from 560 yesterday. Appears all new cases today were from local transmission.
Bali provincial government data show that the two new #COVID19 deaths added to the island's official death toll today were from Denpasar and Badung regency. Denpasar has recorded the most deaths in Bali (16) followed by Badung(13), Gianyar (8) and Karangasem (8).
One of the deaths added to today's data in Bali occurred almost a month ago - on 1 August - and involved a 63yo woman from Denpasar. There's no explanation given in this report about why it took so long for it to be added to Bali's official death toll. https://www.balipost.com/news/2020/08/28/144264/Korban-COVID-19-Bali-Bertambah-Ternyata...html
Bali provincial health service head Dr Ketut Suarjaya said the woman had tested positive for #COVID19 on 24 July, a day after being admitted to Wangaya Hospital. She reportedly had no comorbidities.
Dr Suarjaya said the Badung case was a 61yo man who passed away today. He'd been admitted to Mangasuda Hospital on 17 August and tested positive the next day. The deceased had a history of heart disease.
Jembrana #COVID19 task force spokesperson Gusti Agung Putu Arisantha was quoted in both news reports as saying that a doctor & a midwife have tested positive after treating corona-positive patients, though not the one who died today.
Worth noting though that the doctor worked at the puskesmas (community health clinic) in Pengambengan, the same village that the deceased was from. [Reported by Antara that the deceased was a 59yo man.] The midwife was from Baler Bali Agung.
