A quick thread on "Black Twitter" 's most recently elected President, the parody @MrHandsome_ZA.

A few days ago, @Natz_online pointed out a blatantly fake account to me, pretending to be a white guy and being very obvious about not being that white: https://twitter.com/Natz_online/status/1295249824187588608

With @TracyZille still in mind, I poked a bit at the account.

I noticed something peculiar. One of the earliest accounts that had followed Ol' Frikkie here had me blocked.

I had never seen nor heard of this account, and it had a pretty solid following.

After some digging, it turns out that this is the same account that was previously named @youranonsa, an account that pretended to be the South African version of Anonymous.

The account deleted its old tweets and reinvented itself as the @MrHandsome_ZA account in late June/early July.

This is clear from replies (previously sent to @youranonsa) now being directed towards @MrHandsome_ZA as seen in these tweets.

Before that, the account pretended to be an SABC parody account called @SABDNews - searching for that handle also returns tweets directed at @MrHandsome_ZA.

The current profile picture is no doubt stolen from an unsuspecting user on social media.

There might be some more to this cherry, but I'm taking bites out of another (likely associated) account right now
