HEAR ME OUT: WHY KUON SHOULD HAVE NOT GOTTEN A REDEMPTION ARC
If Kuon never "redeemed" himself and Team Z won the match against Team V without him, it could have provided a massive amount of character development for Kuon as it could have also provided development for Kunigami.
If Kuon never "redeemed" himself and Team Z won the match against Team V without him, it could have provided a massive amount of character development for Kuon as it could have also provided development for Kunigami.
Now you might be wondering--where does Kunigami come into this? Just hear me out. So lets say in this hypothetical situation Isagi and Chigiri really pull out all the stops and they win against Nagireo mandem. Now Kuon is faced with a realization; his team dosent really need him.
This would be an important realization for Kuon to come to, since up until this point he has always seen himself as the backbone of the teams he has been apart of (first, his soccer team at his school where he was the captain and now team z where he made all the gameplans)
When he realizes that this (up until this point: incompetent) team can actually pull through and succeed without his guidance, it would make him realize that hes not the strong and integral member that he always found himself to be. Kuon would realize that while Team Z does still
need to improve in some areas, they are still strong players; they are the exact type of players that Kuon always desired. They are people who think like him.
But still, they are his competition.
But still, they are his competition.
So keeping this in the back of his head Kuon pushes himself further, determined to show his own worth after essentially being deemed worthless in the last Team Z match.
But he fails.
But he fails.
He is met with his two choices: the exit or the wildcard room. He takes his second chance (god knows he wont get a third) and there he is met with Kunigami. Pure, virtuous, and heroic Kunigami. Now while they were sent to the wildcard rooms for different reasons
Kunigami for being too nice of a guy and Kuon for being too much of an untrustworthy asshole, Kunigami realizes that he can't succeed in Blue Lock without the famous "egoism" that is preached constantly. Suddenly he has to change his whole personality; he must be unfeeling and
self serving because this is his last chance.
And who is more self serving than Kuon, the guy who smiled in his teams' faces while having every intention of eliminating all of them. Through playing with Kuon (and the peanut gallery) and being around Kuon he eventually finds

his sense of egoism and comes back into Blue Lock a whole new striker.
Anyways i don't even know if this makes any sense im just thinking out loud.
