A bit of a thread about the Messi situation:

#FCB have not said yet he is for sale. That affects everything. Inter keeping a eye on things. In Paris they say PSG not interested; in Qatar, that they are. City still at the forefront though
Nobody would be able to pay a big transfer fee. So City would consider swapping players.

His wages (€50m+ a year) will be cut if he comes to City (or anywhere else)

City considering to offer a two year deal, with the possibility for him of rescinding after one
His dad is not in Manchester, will arrive from Rosario to Barcelona at the end of the week

On Sunday Messi will have to do PCR test at the club and training starts on Monday. It is expected he will be present but still determined to leave
President Bartomeu has certainly offered 'his head' (resignation) if Messi stays and talks about it all publicly. But he would keep same board and directors. Not a real change then and anyway it is too late for that.

Messi has not responded to the offer. The chess game continues
By the way, it is a bit strange to offer your resignation as a negotiating tool instead of being the consequence of self analysis and the humble realisation that the job one is doing does not match the office, the mandate or the expectations
Messi hasn't demanded that Pep stays for longer than year left in his contract.

Pep and Leo have now spoken. Pep told him that if willing to leave, #MCFC would try to finance the move

Every step is carefully taken by City so nobody can say they 'stole' the player from FCB
I insist. FCB have not opened the door to a transfer yet, so not much can happen till (if) they do.

If they do not and ask for the €700m of his buy out clause, a judge might eventually decide the transfer fee because, as of today, Messi is willing to use all the avenues to go
Having Messi would help #MCFC move a step up. They would have a player that can turn games around without the need for everything to work (their Salah, Kane), that can make the team more efficient so then mistakes in Europe would not be as relevant and crucial as they have been
The logical next step is that club and player negotiate a way out. So FCB can design a squad without an unhappy player.

I spoke about that and more detail in the latest YT video in my channel
