Ok, it is officially morning time so here is a Black history fact for August 28th.
I cut and pasted these facts because I did not want to have typos.
August 28, 1833: Slavery was abolished in the United Kingdom

August 28, 1955: 14-year-old Emmett Till was brutally murdered
three desperately evil white men.

August 28, 1963: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, D.C.

August 28, 2005: Hurricane Katrina made landfall in Louisiana.
The storm, which devastated New Orleans, inordinately impacted the city’s black residents.

August 28, 2008: Then-Senator Barack Obama accepted the democratic nomination for president, becoming the first black man to ever win the nomination and bid for presidency.
Filled with such historical significance for black people, I wanted to end this thread with hope.

President Obama is a beacon for hope, kindness, and reason.
Racists want to destroy the humanity of black people but as long as we have hope, we can continue to press.💜
