Random rant for lefties, a thread:
All too often lefties are willing to shut down the tent and say "I dont want them in our movement they were a nazi!" or something along those lines, or be actively hostile to people who are likely bigots and shut down any real conversation (1/?)

and get into online thread fighting for the sake of fighting. I do this a ton myself because I think we all know the euphoria that's associated with dunking on a dipshit, just for being a dipshit How effective is this really? Is this a winning strategy? The right happily--- (2/?)
accepts anyone willing to listen with open arms and will consistently whisper propandga into their ears funneling them deeper into the machine. We don't really do this. The left does a lot of purity tests, actively disengaging with people who are either filled with brain-

worms or just spouting Sargon talking points. There has to be some sort of middle ground, I was pulled out of the alt right, (you could say I was alt-lite btw, I never took the JQ pill) am I not a real leftist? Despite being more socially progressive than the majority of - (4/?)
the population, despite being anti-capitalist, despite being anti-imperialism. Is my time spent watching far right figure heads and their proganda a stain too great to be washed? In order to deradicalize people and in turn, radicalize them the opposite direction you have to (5/?)
be more cordial with people even in the smallest of situations. Understand the rhetoric you use and how it affects people who wouldn't already agree with you. Don't insinuate that your facts "goes against their narrative", don't use language pointed to imply they are part - (6/?)
some hive minded idiotry (even though they absolutely are). These are only two quick examples I could think of and I couldn't possibly list them all, but be mindful of how you present your arguments, as the above mentioned serve to do nothing but put them on the defensive - (7/?)
and likely to fail at planting any seeds of doubt of their idealogy into their heads. We can be better, at making them be better. This is not a fight we can win by shutting out all those who don't meet our standards at the moment of entry, we have to gradually change their (8/?)
behavior. You don't just erase internalize bigotry over a night, it takes time, a lot of time. Absolutely, there are some people who will never be won over as they are just sincerely hateful and almost nothing will ever change that. This is a balancing game and as a - - (9/?)
broader movement we will never reach a consensus on the arbitrary line of who is too far gone to ever be trusted or whatever else, it's a scale that each individual will have to weigh for themselves. (10/10)
I'd like to point out, all that being said, I'm saying this as a cute white femboy. If you're a poc or any sort of marginalized group, (or even if you're not!) you absolutely have no obligation to jive with past or current bigots, even if they're trying to change their ways.
also this really should've just been a twit longer.
