I wanna talk about something that& #39;s been on my mind.
Back in Jersey we had a neighbor who just didn& #39;t like us. Ok whatever. One day she started screaming at us from her window calling us Puerto Rican n*gg*rs and how she was gonna slit our throats in our sleep.

As a Latina I& #39;ve experienced a lil racism here and there, but nothing like that before. It was an awful feeling, and seeing my little brothers shaking in fear was something I was not used to, but this is how it is for a lot of black folks on a daily.
For so many non black people, saying the n word is just like saying any other word, but why? I remember skipping over it when our teachers told us to read To Kill a Mockingbird outloud, because I cannot say such a grotesque word.
I am confused as to how an entire team of people didn& #39;t realize their inside joke was offensive, I don& #39;t understand how you can "slip up" with a slur and I simply cannot grasp why anyone would offer fake solidarity to a group that& #39;s hurting so bad.
I& #39;m not sure what I want to say or if any of this was understandable, but I& #39;m begging you all to be kind to one another. If someone says you& #39;re being offensive, apologize and own up to it. If someone apologizes for a mistake, please don& #39;t try and stand up for their mistake.
