1. Gonna take a sec and talk about passion for something & how to direct it. If you’re passionate about something, and are waiting for it to be published/released etc., you may hope it does something and fear that it doesn’t or do something you don’t want it to do/be/show/say.
2. This is anticipation. It’s real, it’s viable. But please, in your anticipation of something (especially fiction), understand that if you say “I’m scared X will happen but I hope it’s Y”, everyone understands exactly what you say.
3. The above type of expression also tells everyone...”I really, really love this thing. It’s important to me. I have things I want to see.” But it is not your creation. Other people may want other things. The creators may do something you never expected. ALL OF THESE ARE OK.
4. It’s OK to be sad if you don’t get what you want. It’s OK to be thrilled if you do. What is not OK is, when you are in that state of anticipation, saying things like: “You (a single person associated with a many-person project) better not do X” or...
5. “Be careful what you do about Z” or “You’ll regret it if you don’t do P, or if you do and you don’t do it this particular way.” If you do this you are no longer perceived as passionate but threatening. And if you’re threatening someone over fiction...
6....threatening a REAL person over a PRETEND THING...I mean...do I have to even say it? If you’ve read this far, and it’s you...stop. Breathe. Take a step back. This behavior is small-minded and cruel, and I’m willing to bet you’re better than that. :)
7. BONUS TWEET: Turn your disappointment into something else. Art. Song. Stories. I made up an entire detailed head canon for what Loki did when he supposedly “died” in Infinity Wars (sorry, spoiler). Or maybe...allow yourself to see what’s going on and maybe...maybe....
8. 2nd BONUS TWEET:...you’ll discover that, if you give it a chance, you might even like it. NOTE: This is not directed toward any particular tweet, but just a general reminder to, well...”Be excellent to each other.” <3
