Ready for my hot-take? Throughout the Trump presidency there have been almost *countless* moments that seemed MASSIVELY important politically, from Charlottesville, to gov't shut down (remember that?) to impeachment, & basically none of it has altered a remarkably stable picture.
The president is unpopular and disliked by a majority of Americans, but retains a near-unshakable grip on about 42% of the country. I don't think anything in the last two weeks changed that basic dynamic.
In fact the stability of that basic dynamic EVEN WITH 180,000 AMERICANS DEAD and tens of millions out of work is, itself, pretty shocking. But to quote Trump: it is what it is.
