One thing I like about Taiwan (& would like to write a story on the more I think abt it) is that while it's no doubt a developed country w/ high tech, it's also a religious society. The myths and science doesn't clash as others might expect. Instead they coexist in harmony.

I like to use 乖乖 as an example. These snacks can be seen in almost every office & even on film set (placed on the cameras).
Here's 3 of the more memorable incidents I had with 乖乖: (2)

One time the printer in our office isn't working. We just moved to a new building and everyone is going mad. The semi-head of our team (the most experienced co-worker who's also responsible for all the techs) told us to grab 2 乖乖 (it must be green packages!) at lunch break. (3)
He placed 1 pac on our printer & 1 on his computer. He nodded agreeably when the printer sprang back to life!
The guy's Malaysian & 's been living in TW for 10ish yrs. He said he learnt this from his classmates in uni 😂

The second story is one time when I was in 3D class & the model refused to be rendered. The teacher sighed and said: "I guess IT finally found out that's not 乖乖."
I checked the back of the pc & lo and behold! It's a bag of Lays with green packaging 🤯 (5)
The final story was similar. While in uni, my roommate always had a pack of green 乖乖 on her desk. One day her laptop wasn't responding so she checked the expiry date on the snack then threw it in trash. She later brought back a new one as offering for her (ancient) laptop. (6)
