creatively telling the story of their new teacher based upon the clues they found. I encouraged them to be silly if they wanted to be or attempt an accurate telling. Then volunteers told their stories (if funny, then still respectful) and I closed by sharing the whole truth.
Many students found that we had a point of connection, and shared it with me. Others just let their silly Middle School selves shine and we all laughed together. One of my favorite creative stories is attached below!
