BC budget week before Alberta was way too rosy and we were still sussing out COVID that hit big numbers that and next week. WHO made clear this was a pandemic and gave countries a small runway to get their shit together

Despite the clear hitting the fan the Alberta budget was sheer fantasy, mentioning COVID twice and forecasted oil prices that might as well have been magic fairy dust. Economists near and far called them out, telling them to shelve the budget and take this seriously.

Did they listen? No. Did they mock? Yes. Did they belittle? Yes. They did not get serious until after....after the pandemic was called. And even then the Alberta governments response has been embarrassing
