Photos MATTER

Browse any Magazine or Catalog for Proof (see pic)

Advertisers Know PHOTOS SELL

Low Quality & Unappealing Photos Detract from the Product & Seller

Artistic & Unique Photos Give the Perception of

☑️Better Quality Product
☑️Higher End Seller

⬇️
We’ve Established Photo Quality Matters

But what makes a good photo?

1. RESOLUTION - images must be clear not grainy or pixelated

2. CLOSE UPS - Shooting close ups shows detail, condition & a different perspective than most listings

⬇️
3. ANGLES - close up angle shots offers a subtle artistic touch to your COVER PHOTO

Your listing should POP OUT next to your competition

Which could be between 5-20 or more listings

⬇️
4. Backgrounds
Another great touch to your product photos is to shoot them on some sort of background

I like to shoot a lot of my photos on wood

I feel it makes the entire photo more visually pleasing

And I believe it influences the buyer in small subtle ways

⬇️
Conversely, many people prefer to shoot their photos on plain white backgrounds

This puts all the focus on the product allowing the buyer to easily see and inspect the product

I alternate between a wood background and white background depending on the product

⬇️
5. Lighting/Light boxes
Lighting is the most critical aspect in photography

Get it wrong & your photos will suffer

Natural light’s unpredictable

It’s better to manipulate & control the lighting using lights & a light box

If you’re handy there are plenty of DIY options

⬇️
You can always purchase a light box from Amazon, EBay or a Photography store

I’m not gonna attempt to teach lighting here

There are many variables and potential setups and as I said, I’m no Photographer

I suggest doing a google search and educate yourself

⬇️
My reason for this thread was to emphasize the importance of good photos

These are just my opinions & there are different schools of thought

I prefer my photos to stand out next to the stock photos you see with so many listings
