The industry is against Katy Perry.

-dropped by multiple record labels
-was only accepted by 1 record label bc they were at the verge of bankruptcy
-absolutely no grammy
-always trashed by the critics
-most critically acclaimed album only 61 on metascore

-told her to switch it up after Prism but DRAGGED Witness for being different
-going back to “old katy” with Smile but critics telling her she can’t make the same pure pop music again

-Rise (2016) was boycotted by Olympics after she started speaking up about politics (note that it’s not even her first time campaigning for a candidate)
-her new music during Witness era wasn’t accepted by radio stations
-POOLS of media backlash following every time she breathed

it’s not even funny anymore. I could go on for so long

forgot to add to the thread & don’t wanna ruin the tweet above but 0 celebrities supported her when she was dealing with FALSE allegations & MISUNDERTOOD quotes LEFT & RIGHT the last 4 years (still is). it was actually insane. can’t believe she survived all that. wow
