beige ppl don’t need representation lmao white ppl want to look like us and we are not oppressed..... never in my life have i been discrimnated against for being a light skin poc literally we are privileged
white ppl always tell me “ur so tan i wish i was as tan as you”
“i love your skin tone”
but nobody ever says that to my mom who is dark. there are levels of brownness and for light skin people, our color is often just the right amount of brownness for white ppl
though we are not exactly white in color or have a pale complexion, we are still privileged and white ppl look at us different bc of colorism. you can still benefit from whiteness while being ethnic and not having “white” skin
like obviously i’ve faced weird comments abt my appearance from racist ppl and stuff but that does not equal oppression. like individual experiences do not equal systemic problems. colorism does not harm me, i benefit from it
so yeah beige ppl stop acting like we are oppressed and acting so weird about your skin tone. just cuz you’re not primarily identified as white doesn’t mean you’re exempt from the privileges lighter skin comes with
like ppl always ask me “what are you” “omg like where are you from” “are you ________” and that is a PRIVILIGE to be asked those questions instead of being immediately profiled for your skin color. it’s not a struggle at all it only benefits us which is GROSS
