Thoughts while googling stuff about satanic panic: One thing I've neverfully gotten over is how upset evangelicals get whenever Satan is mentioned. If he's an already "defeated foe," then why be bothered?
I sometimes like to imagine that it's because they're jealous of all the time Satan got to spend with God before he was "cast from the heavens" and all the time that he spent with God afterward and that he got to chat with and tempt Jesus.
Could you imagine the Bible without Satan? It'd be so boring, esp the OT. Just sayin'. I feel like the older I get, the more I want to understand why folks react the way they do to certian aspects of christianity, esp Black folks.
To be fair, I find all forms of fundamentalism and indonctrination fascinating and lowkey terrifying. Christian, pagan, and everything in between.
For example: I saw King Dude once and he basically played a satanic equanivalant of a praise and worship song and everyone lifted their hands and swayed while singing "Lucifer's the love of the world" with their eyes closed. It was like youth group, but with upside down crosses.
Anyway, enough with this thread that no one asked for. Here's a photo that I just saved to my desktop:
