there’s a new trend going around on leftist twitter (idk how many of u r on that) that is insistent on glorifying cuba while damning the united states and im a literal cuban and it’s weird seeing non-cuban people tell cubans their history? like it’s mainly white non latinx teens

and it’s deeply discomforting seeing cubans be like “hey I can agree the revolution was need but there’s no need to glorify castro” and they respond with “aw ur family owned slaves u white cuban u don’t know shit” like what? and while I agree cuba has done some great things

I refuse to glorify an authoritarian government that abuses human rights just as the united states does. and for the leftist promoting it WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU USING CUBA AS A COMMUNIST SUCCESS? excuse me? you don’t know true communism then and it weakens what u claim to fight for
