#InfinityTrain ALRIGHT. Infinity Train is trending. For those of you that don't know, I wanna take a second to tell you guys about how mind bending, how fantastic this show is. because it absolutely deserves, nay demands your attention. All aboard the thread car! (Thread >)
For a TL:DR version of what I'm about to say: It's SILENT HILL for children. You might think the 'for children' tag is my way of saying 'oh it's much safer for kids to get behind' You know what else was for kids? DON BLUTH. and it gets straight up "All Dogs Go To Heaven" here (>)
Infinity Train's premise: Someone with severe emotional baggage gets trapped on the train. in order to find a way to get off the train, they must lower their number. Whatever that baggage is depends on the passenger. To do so, they must travel through infinite train cars. (>)
Each car is its own pocket dimension created by the train. Each with a trial for the passenger to overcome. Some are silly, others are nightmarish. And some have a infinitely replicating puddle with a new zealand accent. His name is Randall.
(>)
"Well it's Cartoon Network, so what's the problem? Not believing in yourself? Feeling like you have to face your problems alone?" Try Divorce. Try Existential Ennui. Try "If I exist, do I have a right to?" The car forces you to find a way to move on from where you're stuck. (>)
Every single piece of this show is masterful. The haunting synth music, the performances, and the pitch perfect shift between silly humor and serious themes that never feel out of place between one another. The emotions I get from Atticus the Corgi King alone are worth a talk (>)
Probably one of my favorite characters is the cat, Samantha. Who sort of hovers between friend and foe, depending on what kind of collectible you might have for her at the end of your journey. She's also voiced by Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway, Flemeth) And I ADORE HER. (>)
But here's where the show goes from A cool idea to transformative. Unlike most of the cartoons that tackle difficult topics, it's always focused on one character as the 'main character.' but by the time Season One is done, They're gone. Because the main character IS THE TRAIN (>)
The show dramatically shifts the status quo each time they go through a season. Not every passenger figures themselves out. and others can get a little out of hand. The longer the show goes, the more you learn about the train's functions, and it's all deftly thought out. (>)
The reason why I'm suggesting you give this show a shot is for more than just "I LIKE IT." It's actually because the show is in its own limbo right now. It's on HBO MAX right now and barely anyone has seen it! It's at risk of just getting cancelled before it even starts! (>)
I am always someone that's going to champion kids shows that challenge kids in a way that most adults are too afraid to. Especially if it encourages them to think critically like this show does uncompromisingly. It's dark, oftentimes uncomfortable, and has a bite kids love. (>)
If I haven't convince you, The Pilot is on youtube right now. GO WATCH IT. If you really like this show, get a free week trial on HBO MAX and watch. It needs views to prove it's worth continuing. Help this Infinity Train reach it's final stop. ♾ (END)
