CW: Violence against POC.
Listen up. A friend, D, who has been dealing with racist neighbors in her neighborhood (also my neighborhood...) was on her way to an appt here in Shoreline, WA and drove by a white guy pinning a brown man down on Aurora Ave. Initially on his neck. >>>

D pulled in, went on fb live to document, & started yelling at the guy to get off of him. Allegedly the guy threw a rock towards the street, so this white dude took it upon himself to stop and knock the brown guy down and pin him in the road. Photos are screen caps of vid >>>

A few other guys stepped in to make sure the pinned guy was ok and try to de-escalate, and tie dye guy eventually got off him. The attacked man was still down for awhile but eventually was able to get back up >>>

Meanwhile tie dye guy was completely incensed at D, a WOC, that she was yelling at him to get off the man, about his response being completely inappropriate and the man was obviously in crisis. He became enraged at her, got in her face (unmasked), yelling & cursing, etc >>>

Tie dye man said things like how it was a citizens arrest, how “we need to take our streets back” etc. That she needs to just go away. That she shouldn’t be there. Yadda yadda. Meanwhile D has been calling for backup on FB live to witness. >>>

Around the time tie dye man finally gets off the guy, old yellow shirt man starts yelling at D, called her a “hairy cunt” and a bitch among other disgusting things, got in her face, shoved her, got threatening, picked up a large rock >>>

I didn’t see this “live” but found it right after she stopped recording & headed over. I’m about 5 minutes away. When I got there D had left for an appt she was now late for, but a few others had shown up to witness. Several police were there putting the brown man in the car. >>>

Meanwhile tie dye vigilante justice wannabe dude was just hanging out with the police, buddy buddy, giving his statement. Finally masked. Police even left their computers with him. >>>

Meanwhile some lady who I found out later was his wife was pissed at the two other people who had shown up to witness, and kept yelling that it was perfectly fine to attack and pin down a man if police weren’t there yet. Oh and she brought their kid to witness all this. >>>

One of the witnesses offered to give the wife a phone number for emergency mental health services for next time, she refused to take it. At one point ran up and swatted at one of the witnesses for moving closer to the police with phone out. Just kept pacing around and yelling >>>

We all watched for awhile and more people showed up as the brown guy sat in a police car in the sun by himself for an hour, and Tie Dye guy got the sweet cop treatment. Cops tried to take a pic of a ding I couldn’t even see on yellow shirt man’s car, allegedly from a rock >>>

Another friend nearby who saw the video is familiar with the man who is now being arrested, says he’s well known in the area, very gentle and non-combative, which I saw both IRL and on the vid. Was friendly, not a threat, cooperative. >>>

TL;DR - A non violent person of color needed help and instead was attacked & pinned to the ground in the street by a random white man, who then yelled obscenities with another white man at a WOC who showed up to get them to stop. Cops arrest the brown man & let go the attacker.

Enough is enough. The man needed mental health help. He did not attack anybody unlike the “vigilante justice” man who attacked him. Four different cop cars, nobody talked to us or asked to see the photos/videos before the cops left, arresting only the brown man. Shoreline, WA.
