What are public schools doing about videos that need to be captioned (or live sessions that require live captioning)? Are any school paying for a captioning service? I'm assuming schools are providing interpreters for kids that need it but maybe I don't even want to ask..
Im going to add this here because it seems to be a common response. Any AI/auto captioning done by a machine doesn’t meet the standard for ADA compliance for accessibility. This is why I asked. Schools should be providing prof captioning services for any students with captioning+
Required by their IEPs and teachers should not have to spend hours captioning videos. Children deserve full access to their education and also.. it’s the law.
FWIW I think it’s the responsibility of @Google and @Microsoft and @otter_ai and @rev and whoever else provides this service to make it 100% clear that they are not ADA compliant. Too many people think this is the solution because these companies have told them so
