originally the race known as Ulltramen where a human like but more technologically advance who when their planets sun was dying intended a fake sun to replace it the radiation from it turned them into ultramen, affect other near by planets creating ultramen there as well

the residents of the land of light (the name of the ultramens home planet ) having a very strong scene of justice established the Inter Galactic Defense Force Headquarters who go throughout the multiverse beating monsters and saving people

its worth noting that everytime we see the Inter Galactic Defense Force Headquarters training new ultras there is a mix of male and female ultras. implying there are a large number of ultrawomen out there kicking ass and we dont see it

OK on to key figures!
first ultramen then Kaiju !

so to start with is the Ultra Brothers, a group of old showa era Ultras that now work at the land of light,

( pictured here is Ultraman (the one from the original series is just called ultraman) , Ultraman Zoffy, Seven,Jack,Ace,Taro,Leo,80,Mebius, Hikari also Astra )

extra notable figures here:
ultraman Hikari (the blue ultra) is the number one scientist in the land of light
Ultraman Seven has a son who we will get to
Ultraman Taro is the son of one of the most powerful ultras and has a son of his own

you can split ultraman into 3 eras, the showa era, the heisei era and the new generation, i bring this up because during the heisei era ultraman basically stopped having new yearly series and became yearly movies,

the most notable of which was Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movies, which introduced two very important Ultras:
Ultraman Belial, an evil ultra that tried to take over the galaxy multiple times
and Ultraman Zero son of seven who basically is a massive chad

Zero has had multiple movies and had a cameo in almost every new generation series (staring in one of them), he is very cool and he is voiced by Mamoru Miyano ( the voice of Light in the JP version of death note)

belial appears in almost just as much things as Zero in one way or another, despite being very much dead

OK now imma just give props to ultras i just really like because this is my thread and you cant stop me,

to start with there is Ultraman GEED, the son of Belial, his series is very good and also stars Zero very much worth a watch

Ultraman Taiga ! this series follows Taro's son and his Team made up of Ultraman Titas (basicly a jojos character) and Ultraman Fuma ( a 60ft tall blue naruto running ninja that calls people Broski) while they battle to stop the evil Ultraman Tregear this series is very fun!

next is Ultraman Orb ! the wondering hero Gai ends back in Tokyo and ends up helping the SSP (a group of internet bloggers ) while he trys to stop the plans of his former friend jugglus juggler

ok i feel like this thread has been going on for too long so imma end it with my top 3 frequently recurring Kaiju

Note: Ultraman Kaiju designs are considered iconic and thus many of them havnt changed much since they where introduced

first of we have King Joe, a cool robot that can split into multiple parts and reform very cool stuff

next we have Zetton the space dinosaur, he killed the first ultraman (he got better dont worry ) and thus has a lot of prestige

and lastley we have Gomora who is a good boi
