If this in ⁦ @Telegraph⁩ accurately represents the government’s view of how to get workers back in offices, it is based on quite a serious misconception - in that it assumes bosses themselves are returning to offices, and most of those whom I know would rather stay away
It is also predicated on the weird idea that what counts in whether you are vulnerable to being sacked is proximity to the boss. There is a powerful argument that the opposite may be true.
And finally it is to assume that employers are wholly irrational. There is evidence in some industries that home working is increasing productivity.
So re-opening urban centres will not be simple
