I decided to apply to both tv stations in my hometown...

I was offered a sales job at one...& a studio job at the other.
The sales job was full-time, studio was part-time...

I also got an offer at a local call center w/ potential to make more than both

So I took a leap out on faith....took the studio job.
While working 2 other jobs during the day...i’d work studio control at @47abc at night.

I worked in studio for about 8 months...with no experience at all in tv— it was an awesome experience to sit and learn all the behind the scenes stuff I never cared to learn in college.

I asked my supervisor if I could record a few “practices” on the desk.

I eventually signed my first contract as a sports photog, and would get some opportunities to practice and eventually fill-in behind the desk.
After some natural employee attrition and turnover (and PLENTY of practice), I make my way to weekend sports anchor.

I always look back on the journey and laugh.
Thankful that I followed a dream and it landed me a dream career.
