Of those 2,100 pieces, approximately 225 went to our Editor in Chief, @lexdepompa, to review for longlist consideration. So 11% of pieces hit recommended (a rating of 8+) status from our readers.
Of those, 76 were longlisted. 34% of recommended pieces, and 3.6% of total pieces.

There will be MANY factors that allow us to decide which pieces get placed in our issue. So many pieces that we received will be EXCELLENT--but not the exact right fit for this issue.
So please, please, please submit again. To us. To others.
:) We love reading your subs.

That 0.6% is made of many things. Most importantly:
Market fit
Issue fit
Theme fit
Whether an editor thinks THEY& #39;RE a good fit for the piece
Number of slots for a certain medium/story length
And, always, unfortunately: budget
On top of the actual writing itself.
