I work in CSR n visited 60+ factories in China, from manufacturing hubs in Guangdong to small towns in Xinjiang. The factory in this vid (a the one above) belong to a garment manufacturer called Esquel Group. The company was sanctioned by Trump cos of bullshit accusations. (2/14)

Factories in China gets updated fast. Take the Esquel #Xinjiang factory for example, it's highly automated with top-notch spinning machines (Rieter) and industrial robotic arms (ABB), and managed by local technicians that understand LEAN manufacturing management. (3/14 )

Esquel's workers (Uyghur, Han n Hui) are skilled technicians. They aren’t the kinda illiterate labours most Westerners picture. In fact, most workers in these factories are more educated with higher salary than many whining “Uyghur labour camps” on Twitter.

These factories follow intl standards and gets audited by these organizations every year or once every two years. Esquel, for example, has certifications of sustainable manufacturing from organizations including ISO, STeP, GRS, GOTs, etc.

Not just in #Xinjiang, factories all around China are going through rapid updates. This Esquel factory complex below is called Integral, located in Guilin, China, a well-known tourist sight but not a traditional manufacturing zone. It was launched two years ago. (6/14)

I’m NOT saying that China is some kinda utopia n the factories are Disneyland. It's undeniable that there are labour issues in China. But it’s absolutely nowhere near what Westerners are claiming and the working conditions as well as labour laws are visibly improving fast. (7/14)

I'm not denying that in some private firms ppl work long hours to get higher pay.

But the real challenge China faces is to train its workers so that they won't be left behind. But take a look at how the West smears China’s vocational training centers. (9/14)

When I visit factories, I really see the brink of the 4th industrial revolution. China will have to help those who can’t catch up. In fact, not only #Xinjiang but also the whole world needs government funded vocational training centres. Not trying to offend people in Detroit here. But the CPC won’t allow any of its cities to turn into Detroit. (11/14)
