I am so tired of white people. And I mean that in the most disrespectful way possible. They will never understand our struggle. They will never understand what it is like to be black. They will never get it, and I’m done trying to explain it.

The deeper I got into my studies (political science and african american history, pre-law track) the more I realized just how skewed their views are on EVERYTHING. Things we think about and are aware of daily, does not affect them in any way.

Watching the whitening of Downtown/Metro-Detroit to the point where a lot of Black people can’t even afford to go downtown anymore is disgusting. Most of us can’t afford to live in our own city because of gentrification.

Miles of city blocks that 10-15 years, ago they wouldn’t have DARED set foot in. Now, they’re the ONLY ones who live there and those beautiful brownstones/2-family flat/houses, Black people can no longer afford.

Going to school downtown and having classes with these entitled ass white kids makes my blood BOIL. again, I am studying POLITICS!!! These are future lawyers and politicians and the way they think is abhorrent. It’s actually scary.

How can you, a straight-white-conservative-male, have even an INKLING of what is best for the black and brown communities in this city or even anywhere? But also, they’re not willing to learn, and THAT is the problem.

I kid you not, I had a course where this person tried to justify redlining and was pro-gentrification. Even my professor was taken aback.

I’ve had white students challenge my Black female professors on any and everything. Mind you, these women have PHD’s and are the ones TEACHING the course. But those same students would not dare challenge my white professors.

I’m sick of it and something has to change.
