Recruitment thread - finding a left-back

So, as promised I have done a little bit of work to look at interesting left-backs in markets that Aberdeen may not normally look at. To be clear, this is not me saying that these players should be signed.
Instead these players show well in the data and are interesting enough to warrant further scouting either via video or live scouting. In order to have a strong recruitment process you have to use all three areas of scouting together.

The data that I have pulled is from Wyscout.
markets include France (3rd tier) Finland, Iceland, Norway, Slovakia and Slovenia. All of these represent markets that Aberdeen could access and which represent value in the market.
Firstly, we will look at left backs that progress the ball through passing or running. These represent players whou could help Aberdeen to move forward more efficiently. Two players identified as interesting here are Abdel Abdallah of Grenoble Foot and Branislave Sluka
who plays for Zilnia in Slovakia.
Next, let's look at defensive efficiency with the % of aerial duels and ground duels won. Also an important consideration in this Aberdeen team. The first player picked out here was Jovanie Tchouatcha of Dunkerque. The other was Joonas Sundman a Finnish player at SJK.
Finally which players dribble and cross effectively. Important for Aberdeen in the attacking phase. Here I have picked out Remy Duterte of US Boulogne and Tilem Mlakar, a Slovenian fullback.
Once again, this is not a definitive list and rather an example of how we can use data to identify players who could potentially be of interest.

Next, I will choose one of these players and produce a thread that will show how the video scouting process can work.
I wanted to leave you with one last thing. An interactive dashboard of the players in my dataset. Use the filters and click on any individual mark to show where that player ranks for each metric.

If you find any interesting players let me know! https://public.tableau.com/profile/aberdeen.analysis#!/vizhome/HelpAberdeentofindanewleftback/Dashboard1?publish=yes
