A lot of the athletes need direction. I’m afraid many of them are not equipped with the social justice acumen needed to direct this movement.

Their franchise leadership is gonna get in there and throw the book at them and reduce it to “Do you want a lockout?” & that’s it.

The owners are going to stop their bags and a lot of players may not be ready for that. Those that are comfortable will be able to stomach that “two-way street,” but it’ll be tough for a lot of players to lose their annual salary if there is a lockout.

They need to be able to counter during those talks and that’s what my concern is. If they’re not consulting with people that are on the ground, doing the work, then this may be another failed attempt to get folks to enact change.
