Being #BlackinAmerica today means telling people I’m avoiding posting about or having convos regarding police brutality because I’m pregnant. Pregnant w/ a little Black boy. I don’t want to think about a means of his potential death as I simultaneously prepare for his birth. 1/3

Also because I’m tired. Not just from the extra weight on my hips & ankles, but because I’ve been having these conversations for a while now. I was in high school when Sean Bell was killed the next state over. I campaigned for Trayvon Martin to get justice while in undergrad. 2/3

So yeah, I just want to focus on my writing and getting Baby Gaitors’ nursery done. I’m praying for all those doing the work right now for racial justice. I just simply can not join in at this time. I need to be well for me and my baby who will be arriving in December. 3/3
